November 8th...every Dad's favorite day of the year....everyone else's most dreaded...that's right, it's "National Aid & Abet Punsters Day". So we thought we'd start your Friday off with some laughs...or, more likely, groans. And of course we had to steal one from our dry cleaning plant, who are the pun masters. "This too shall pass." (Ancient Persian Adage) Call it corny, call it old fashioned, call it what you will...but there are the small moments in life that remind you of it's wonder and potential. Some of our CRDN of Central PA & Northern Pittsburgh family have been going through some tough times on a personal level, and my wish is that we never lose the vision to see these "small moments" and remain excited and hopeful for our futures. Not as employees...or teammates...but as sons, daughters, husbands, wives, sisters, brothers, friends and partners.

We're a few days early for Halloween, but we have to celebrate our very own Dr. Frankenstein, Amber Edwards. Her amazing ability to bring these priceless works of art "back from the dead" never ceases to amaze us!! This particular piece was purchased by our homeowner's mother in Hawaii approximately 40 years ago. Obviously, one of a kind, and through Amber's dedicated efforts, our family can cherish it for at least 40 more!! P.S. Now put the pitchforks and torches down. (Second photo is halfway through restoration process)

On a dreary Central Pennsylvania morning, the privilege of assisting The Special Olympics Pennsylvania with organizing medals, ribbons, equipment and their storage facility (through The Centre County United Way "Day of Caring" campaign), cut through the fog like a blast of pure sunshine! Growing up having family members with Down Syndrome, I never thought of them as anything but what they were to me. My Great Uncle...my Aunt...my cousin. That is why assisting with this amazing organization means so much to me. Because they, and their wonderful volunteers, see these competitors for what they are....Athletes. Athletes with as much drive, determination, heart and pure joy, as anyone you'll see playing Friday nights on ESPN, NBC or anywhere else. A huuuge thank you to Erika Christiansen and all of the dedicated ladies I met that day. It was an absolute pleasure to be some small part in your day, and I look forward to many more. #dayofcaring

We all know that there is never a good time to have a fire in your home...but there are times that are worse than others....around the holidays, after you just finished renovations, or, in this case, when you're 39 weeks pregnant. The only concern our Mom-To-Be had was getting an immediate needs order for her little one, to ensure they had enough clothing for those incredibly important first weeks/months. As we always do, CRDN of Central PA & Northern Pittsburgh stepped up to the plate and knocked it out of the park!! A huge thank you to our dedicated team at Balfurd Dry Cleaner for taking some stress out of the life of our expecting homeowner!!
