Last Friday, our team took part in a strengths workshop, diving into how our individual strengths complement (and sometimes challenge!) each other. Through this, we discovered that we value transparency, peace, and learning—and most importantly, we share a deep commitment to growth. We also got a little creative, using Play-Doh to visualize how each of us plays a vital role in filling our team’s “shopping cart.” ???? A huge thank you to Lindsay Pitstick, M. Ed. and the Miami Valley Nonprofit Collaborative for leading such an insightful and engaging session! #Teamwork #Strengths #ProfessionalGrowth #Nonprofit

This school year, we welcomed two more Troy schools into our program, now serving four: Cookson, Forest, Heywood, and Kyle Elementary. Teachers can visit twice a year to pick up supplies for around 1,000 students. ???? The Troy Noon Optimist Club, committed to supporting local youth and education, awarded a $1,000 grant to C2C to provide free supplies for teachers at Troy’s four participating schools this school year. Read the article below about how local teachers and students in Troy are benefitting from our program. #supportingteachers

Today is #GivingTuesday! ? Each year, our Book Give Back event tackles a persistent challenge in our community: two-thirds of low-income families do not have children's books at home. Crayons to Classrooms' staff and volunteers look forward to hosting our third annual Book Give Back event this afternoon. We’re incredibly thankful to the organizations that have generously donated books for this event and to our table sponsors, Sandy and David McSemek, for their support. Ms. Pulliam, a dedicated first-grade teacher at Dayton Public Schools, received 214 books for her students at last year’s event. Read about the event's impact on her classroom below. Your donation helps us put books and other necessary educational resources directly into the hands of local teachers whose students need them most.
