As we wrap up Hispanic Heritage Month, we’d like to recognize our Global Citizen and Working Parent employee resource groups for joining efforts and introducing us to SitStayRead in support of programming for bilingual students in our hometown. SitStayRead serves to advance the literacy skills of kindergarten through third-grade students in Chicago by bringing dogs into classrooms as reading partners. ?? Earlier this month, we had the opportunity to meet Deirdre Harrison CFRE, Briana McLean, and Jamie Crockett, as well as a few of the adorable pups, learn about this non-profit reading program, and participate in a SitStayRead book drive to help kids on the South and West sides of Chicago build their at-home libraries. This weekend, some of our volunteers helped set up a Crate & Kids reading nook for Read-A-Palooza, and were able to see the program in action. Last week, 850+ associates from across brands and channels filled the Martin Theatre for our third huddle at Ravinia Festival. When was the last time you danced during your lunch hour? We kicked off Hispanic Heritage Month at Corp HQ with a fun lunchtime Aguas Frescas bar and a dance lesson from Latin Street Music and Dancing! Dancing is all about connection, and we had a wonderful time learning some of the history and steps of the Merengue, Bachata, and Salsa.
