At Crandall Arambula, we design streets that balance the needs of pedestrians, cyclists, transit users, and vehicles. 🏙️ Great complete streets are walkable, bikeable, and support economic vitality. Because a grid of urban roads, bike lanes, and sidewalks can comprise up to 40% of a district, streets need to function both as conduits for travel and well as ‘places’ that improve the livability and economic value of adjacent land uses. 🚲 Did you know a protected bikeway system can capture 40% of household trips? Unlike painted bike lanes, protected bikeways provide safety and comfort for all riders, encouraging more people to bike. 🌟 Urban cycling should be inclusive. Lower-income residents and people of color often rely on bikes for transportation. We champion the creation of protected bike networks in these communities to enhance accessibility, public health, and quality of life. 📰 🎉Great news for #PublicTransit in the #Seattle Metro Area! 🚊 #Bellevue to #Redmond 2 Line opened last weekend! Starting in 2007, Crandall Arambula planned and designed the #SoundTransit alignment and station locations, and provided station area #TOD planning and design for both #BelRed & #OverlakeVillage.

Happy Earth Day 2024! 🌎 💚 🌲 🚴♀️ For Earth Day this year, we would like to share an article published by the New York Times. While we support all the proposals identified in this article we believe that Paris’ emphasis on bicycles is the best and most effective sustainable solution. To summarize: 1️⃣ In 2021 Paris made a plan to make their city 100% cycle-friendly in the   next 5 years 2️⃣ Between 2001 and 2018, public transit trips in Paris' city center increased by 40% and bicycle trips increased by 20% 3️⃣ The percentage of bicycle trips taken within Paris has more than doubled since the pandemic - due to the construction of new bike lanes and bicycle infrastructure.
