Early morning and late afternoon practices are standard for high school football, but the Lakeside Rams in Hot Springs have a bit more flexibility thanks to a dedicated practice field constructed as a part of campus-wide improvements. Crafton Tull engineers worked with the school district to ensure the field was both sustainable and functional. The field features artificial turf, which allows for a quicker return to play after a rain event with innovative stormwater solutions ensuring proper drainage. The Rams can also use the field after dark under lighting that meets ARDOT photometric standards to ensure drivers on nearby Hwy 270 aren’t impacted. We love to see high school athletes have the accommodations needed to ensure they can safely practice at the times that are most beneficial to them. Check out the Rams this Friday as they hit the road to open conference play at Camden Fairview. ??

Located in downtown North Little Rock and overlooking Interstate 40, the North Little Rock Justice Center is the largest project the city's police department has pursued since the 1960s. The building houses several divisions of the justice system that were previously located at various locations throughout the city and was officially opened in December 2021. The project was funded by a half-cent sales tax approved by voters in 2017. Our team worked with Hoefer Welker and ROARK, PERKINS, PERRY & YELVINGTON ARCHITECTS- RPPY ARCHITECTS to provide surveying, civil engineering, and landscape architecture for this nearly 90,000-square-foot project that has made a huge impact on the efficiency of the City’s justice operations.

Our own Shelby Ophof shared insights from the engineering profession with students at the Mid America STEM Works Career Fair. She also shared some progress updates on their new high school, which is currently under construction and happens to be a Crafton Tull project. Thank you, Mid America Science Museum, for having us at this event and spreading excitement for STEM among these students!

Here’s a look at the recently completed Grafton Apartments in Rogers. The complex hosted its grand opening in late May, and residents have been enjoying the amenities like greenspace areas and pocket parks, EV chargers, and a pool and firepit. Our staff provided site design services for the apartment complex, which offers options of 1, 2, or 3-bedroom units. The Grafton will help support efforts to continue growing the Pinnacle Hills and Uptown Rogers areas and provide additional housing options for NWA residents.

We don’t like to *drone* on about projects, but progress is being made at the Conway Community and Aquatics Center, designed by our team. Completion is on track for early next summer! The Crafton Tull Foundation gave another round of grants to different organizations throughout Arkansas and Oklahoma. These funds will be used to support various needs in our communities, such as food and supplies for pantries, advocacy groups, and educational resources. Philanthropy leaders cheered the groundbreaking for Arisa Health's Jane Hunt Clinic in Rogers on Thursday. The 34,000-square-foot building will have a gymnasium and outdoor playground to support its mission of mental health services to the community. We are excited to be part of the design team.

First Security Field at the University of Central Arkansas’ Estes Stadium is truly one of a kind. With alternating purple and gray stripes, the field has received national attention for being one of the most distinctive fields in college football. To keep the turf in pristine condition, the Crafton Tull team provided engineering design not too long ago for the routine replacement of this iconic turf, and we can’t wait to see the UCA Bears get the season started this weekend against the Arkansas State Red Wolves. They’ll bring it home to their unique field on Sept. 14 when they take on the Austin Peay Governors!

Check out the progress of these bridge replacements along scenic Highway 340 in Bella Vista. One is over Sugar Creek, and the other over Tanyard Creek. The Sugar Creek four-lane bridge includes both a sidewalk and a protected side path. The Tanyard Creek two-lane bridge is adjacent to the Country Club Golf Course and includes a new 10’ path directing golf carts under the roadway to avoid vehicular traffic. Arkansas Department of Transportation hired our team to design the project, which also includes .29 miles of roadway widening with new sidewalks. Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc. is the general contractor.?
