As we enter the Back-to-School season, we are excited to share that we celebrated a groundbreaking last week, to kick off school construction projects in Westerly, RI. NCA is the associate architect working with TSKP Studio for the new 48,000 square foot State Street Elementary School. The new building will sit behind the existing school and will serve 300 students in grades K–4. Students and staff will transition to the new building in the summer of 2026, after which the existing school will be demolished, and site work will be completed in the fall of 2026. We are thrilled to have O&G Industries, Inc. Inc. as the general contractor. The design team includes: SLR International Corp, e2 engineers, Diane C. Soule & Associates Landscape Architect, Consulting Engineering Services (CES) , GUILLEN TECHNOLOGY CONSULTANTS, LLC, AKAL Engineering & Machinery Inc. Co. , Crabtree McGrath Associates, Inc. , TRC Companies, Inc., and Welti Clarence Associates Inc. The two renovation projects were included in the celebration but led by another design team, DBVW Architects, to refresh the existing Springbrook and Dunn's Corner Elementary Schools and provide comparable learning environments to the New State Street School with new common areas to promote group learning. The projects continue to be a great collaboration effort as we meet regularly with key stakeholders and the Town's Owners' Representative, DOWNES CONSTRUCTION COMPANY. Excited to share the completion of the @FarmingtonHS project in collaboration with @TSKPStudio! A seamless blend of #design and #construction, featuring top-notch #foodservice and #kitchen facilities.

Last month, the City of Watertown held a topping-off ceremony for the new 200,032sf Watertown High School, which will serve 720 students in grades 9-12. Members of the community and the design/construction team gathered to sign the last steel beam before it was installed. It was especially rewarding to see some enthusiastic (not to mention, festively and adorably wardrobed) future Watertown High School students making their mark on what will become their new high school building. We celebrate this project milestone, marking a significant point in the construction progress.  It has been exciting to witness the building rise from the foundations and begin revealing its final form. The dedication of the Building Committee, the design team, students, teachers, and passionate public participation that prioritized community, equity, inclusion, and environmental stewardship all contributed to creating this incredible educational and public resource that is targeting Net Zero and LEED 4.0 Platinum certification. Ai3 is thrilled to continue collaborating with the City, Watertown Public Schools, the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA), the OPM (The Vertex Companies LLC), and the General Contractor (Brait Construction Managers) in making this beautiful new school come to life for the students, staff, and community of Watertown, MA. On Friday, April 26th, the City of Central Falls held a groundbreaking ceremony for their new state-of-the-art Central Falls High School project. The new 123,844sf, four-story high school is designed to accommodate Central Falls’ diverse population of 751 students in grades 9-12 and will offer career technical programs in fields such as Environmental Engineering, Law and Advocacy, and Engineering and Robotics. The compact building footprint, located at the corner of Lonsdale Avenue and Higginson Avenue, will maximize open green space for community use and outdoor classrooms for students and teachers.  Ai3 is excited to continue collaborating with the City, the School District, RIDE, the OPM (Peregrine Group LLC), and the General Contractor (Brait Construction Managers) in making this beautiful new city icon come to life for the students, staff, and community of Central Falls, RI.
