Have you heard of Building Energy Performance Standards (BEPS)? Starting in 2025, Maryland is implementing reporting requirements around BEPS under the Climate Solutions Now Act of 2022. The end goal is for covered buildings to reduce greenhouse gas emissions starting in 2030. If you own a covered building in Maryland that is 35,000 square feet or larger, you may be required to report energy data to the Maryland Department of Environment (MDE) by June 1, 2025. Building owners will be required to report benchmarking data via the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager program. The resulting data can be used to help building owners identify energy efficient investments they can make to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. CQI can help with both the reporting and identification of energy efficiency investments through energy assessments and other related services. Contact CQI at [email protected] to learn more about these upcoming requirements and to find out how the firm can help you throughout your energy efficiency journey. More information about these upcoming requirements can be found on the MDE website. https://lnkd.in/djiHeJ7t

The City of Decatur, Illinois is one giant step closer to harnessing the power of the sun. Crews are making steady progress in building the solar system in the City of Decatur Civic Center and Office Building parking lot. The west side is up and the east side is well under way. CQI Associates, the City's long-time energy consultant, will keep posting updates. The system is expected to be online by the end of the year.

CQI Associates is proud to announce that the ribbon is cut and our 24th successful solar field project is now online and producing enough energy to power a school. This latest one is in Decatur, Illinois at the Unity Christian School. The array is situated on the school’s campus between the football and baseball fields. The 2,028 panels cover three acres of land and generate 912 kilowatts of energy. The array will produce 98% of the power the school will use. If you think your school or business can benefit from a solar system, contact CQI associates. [email protected],?[email protected] and [email protected]
