Today, we celebrate Care Providers of Minnesota's 2024 Lifetime Achievement Award recipient: Gail Sheridan, Executive Vice President, Lifespark Senior Living. This award honors an individual for their years of service and commitment to our profession, and to those we serve. Gail's three decades of working in senior care and her extensive contributions at both the state and national levels have left a lasting impact on the profession, setting a high standard for quality and innovation in care. Care Providers of Minnesota, in partnership with #talegate-Vintage Voices, visited a few member facilities with residents 100 years of age (or close) and had stories to share. Thanks to Crystal Seasons Living Center, and residents Marge, age 100, and Don, 103. Their story?? Well, they've been married for 80 years!

Thanks to Oak Terrace Senior Living Of North Mankato, and Bruce, who rode with Jack York from #talegate last month. Talegate/Vintage Voice is collecting stories from older adults. Here's a little that Bruce shared about himself: The youngest of 7 kids, Bruce went to school through 8th grade in a one room school house. He joined the Navy at age 17—said it was the best thing he ever did, it helped him "grow up". He married his childhood friend and shared it was a "mixed marriage" (Catholic and Lutheran) which was not fully acceptable at the time. Bruce is a big cribbage player and remembers growing up playing every night which was a tradition he carried on with his own 7 kids. Bruce moved into Oak Terrace a few months ago and stated he has lived a good life and his family is his pride and joy.

This week, Toby attended the Sanford rural health summit along with Good Samaritan Society leadership and a couple of AHCA state execs. #CPM #AHCA #RuralHealthSummit

This week, Nicole Mattson, LHSE, CAE, MA went over to visit the Luverne Good Samaritan Society and talk with Minnesota's 1st Congressional District Representative, Brad Finstad, as well as Joe Schomacker, State Representative for district 21A. Hosting meetings like this are a great way to engage with those who represent you in government, and meeting with multiple levels of government like this is a fantastic display of grassroots advocacy for long-term care! #CareComesFirst #CPMAdvocates #MNLeg
