Last month, Connected Places Catapult celebrated 3 years of the Freight Innovation Fund, which aims to accelerate the adoption of innovative solutions in the freight industry.? ?? The event showcased the work of the fund, including three cohorts of the accelerator programme, which has supported?29 SMEs in real-world trials. It also profiled?the work of the Freight Innovation Cluster, which brings together SMEs, large organisations, tier 1 partners, academia, and other stakeholders?to develop and scale transformative solutions for the sector.? ??? Two firms brought together by Connected Places Catapult are helping taxi drivers from South Wales make a positive switch to electric vehicles. ??? ??? Hydrologiq partnered with GRAHAM Group to trial the use of a hydrogen fuel cell electric generator to power construction site infrastructure, as part of the Hydrogen Innovation Initiative's demonstration?programme. ??????? ???? This demonstration sought to capture data and learnings to help the construction industry and the wider supply chain understand the challenges and opportunities associated with the use of hydrogen-powered generators.? ???? In this 4-week demonstration, a hydrogen-powered generator, fuelled by green hydrogen produced by Protium, was deployed on a National Highways site as part of a M2 motorway improvement project delivered by GRAHAM.?Hydrologiq?managed all stages of the deployment, from planning through to on-going operations and remote monitoring of fuel consumption and generator performance.
