Cox Barton County Hospital is pleased to announce the acquisition of an advanced 64-slice computed tomography (CT) scanner, made possible by the generous donors to the CoxHealth Foundation. This significant upgrade will improve the hospital’s diagnostic capabilities, providing our rural community with access to advanced imaging technology. “We are extremely grateful to the CoxHealth Foundation and their supporters for making this possible," says Dr. Jeremy Sturgell, medical director of the Cox Barton Emergency Department. “This is a substantial upgrade for the hospital as it will allow our medical team to obtain more detailed imaging of the body’s internal structures, enabling us to make quick, well-informed decisions when time is of the essence.” The new 64-slice CT scanner offers faster scan times, higher resolution images, and greater accuracy in diagnosing various medical conditions, including heart disease, stroke, and cancer. This cutting-edge equipment will enable our medical team to deliver timely care and precise diagnoses, thereby enhancing patient care and outcomes. “We will watch the community thrive with it as we bring advanced technologies to Cox Barton,” says Lisa Alexander, president of the CoxHealth Foundation. “We are honored that our donors see an investment in health care as an opportunity with tremendous impact.” The upgraded CT scanner installation is expected to be completed by the end of September. In the meantime, a temporary mobile unit will be available on-site at the hospital to meet patients’ needs. Today our grants team attended the 2024 Seeds of Change Grants Award event hosted by Skaggs Foundation. The Skaggs Foundation awarded 7 grants to CoxHealth that will make a direct impact for patient care in Branson. We appreciate the support. We also celebrated Nita Jane Ayres receiving the Legacy Award, a well deserved recognition.

It was a big day at Cox Barton County Hospital celebrating the launch of the advanced 64-slice CT scanner and renovated cardiopulmonary area. Thank you to everyone that came out for the celebration and to our amazing donors for your support!

It was great to partner with the Radiologic Sciences Student Association (RSSA) for their Halloween Trivia Night this weekend. Funds raised will help the next generation of health professionals with scholarships and professional development.

It was a great day of learning, sharing and presenting at the Drury Non Profit Leadership Conference hosted by Drury University. Our very own leaders Lisa Alexander and Tim Siebert shared their expertise on fundraising.

An amazing group of CoxHealth employees, our Cox Young Professionals, hosted a fun fundraiser last week to raise funds for the breast cancer fund at CoxHealth Foundation. Thanks to their efforts and our community that attended the Disco Dolly Trivia Night, $8,782 was raised to support direct patient care through the breast cancer fund. Thank you all! What a great way to recognize breast cancer month. Thank you to our community partner The Old Glass Place for providing such a great place to host this fun event.
