CowBell Labs is hiring the first two members of our executive leadership team: VP Partnerships & Operations and Director of Engineering. These roles are a chance to build a climate-focused org from the ground up and create a world where inventors, researchers, and farmers can develop and validate agricultural climate solutions regardless of geography. Both have huge potential for impact and career growth. (sparkclimate.org/careers) ? The VP Partnerships and Operations will develop the key external relationships and our user community as well as build and run the internal operations infrastructure for our organization. The Director of Engineering will build the engineering team and lead our engineering effort, ensuring that CowBell Labs delivers its wearable device for cows and controlled emission release devices (an artificial burping cow!) The right person for this role will enjoy getting their hands dirty and their boots muddy (literally) CowBell Labs is solving climate change with Cow wearables and artificial burping cows. Come help us build our Climate Ag-Tech Development non-profit from the ground up. Most importantly - we’re seeking a VP Partnerships & Operations and a Director of Engineering for our executive leadership team.) Agricultural methane and nitrous oxide are responsible for a whopping 0.3℃ of global warming today and rising! These emissions are as global as producing food, so we need truly global solutions for them. And methane only lives on average 12 years in the atmosphere - so if we reduce emissions today, the planet starts cooling in only a decade! Please share with your network and send great folks our way!

We're building and demonstrating testing standards for agricultural greenhouse gas emissions, starting with methane.
关于我们
Our vision is a world where inventors, researchers, and farmers can develop and validate agricultural climate solutions regardless of geography. As an organization, we are optimistic about our climate future and centered in community action which is why we are building infrastructure that supports systemic change. Specifically, our mission is to build and demonstrate testing standards for agricultural greenhouse gas emissions, starting with methane. Our platforms and products will, for the first time, enable on-farm measurement at the scale and detail that is relevant to climate impact. These standards and measurements will catalyze development, identification, optimization, and deployment of effective greenhouse gas mitigation solutions at scale, thereby changing our climate future. This project is funded in part by Lyda Hill Philanthropies, Schmidt Futures, and Spark Climate Solutions. These partners empower us with strategic relationships throughout the public and private climate innovation space. In addition to our strategic funding support, Hayden Montgomery of Global Methane Hub sits on our governance board.

Measure all the cow burps! For we can only manage what we measure! Scientist, Artist, Climate-Thinker.
Project Drawdown recently asked "Are livestock methane feed additives the future or folly?" Though not a silver bullet, their adoption is a positive step towards global methane mitigation, and one we can adopt now. The anti-methane chemistry within them may be adaptable for delivery to more cattle globally by formulating them in water, salt, or as long-release pills. We should continue to fund pursue them, while also considering carefully the "how" of adoption and developing alternatives such as anti-methane vaccines, breeding for low-methane cattle, and developing food production systems that produce less greenhouse gasses for the nutrition they deliver. I'm excited for SF Climate Week and here are 3 reasons why: #1 I just launched the More CowBell Substack! https://lnkd.in/e36MPEXu Like and subscribe to learn more about methane, climate, & cattle #2 CowBell Labs is measuring methane from live cattle with prototype methane measurement hardware. #3 And fun fact: 1/3 of humans also exhales methane. On Thursday at Harvest, Impulse, and Starshot Capital's Gigaton Salon, we'll help people figure out if they're one of them with our methane sensor!
