Yesterday, Cowan Consulting had the opportunity to work with the largest career center in the nation during their recent staff retreat. We designed and delivered a dynamic workshop for NYU Wasserman Center for Career Development titled “Re-Imagining Our Org Culture with Appreciative Inquiry”. This was such a fun and powerful session - we had nearly 50 ppl engaged and interacting for 5hrs! The energy in the room was contagious and you could tell everyone was excited to be involved in the process. They already have a very talented team so we started by discovering and sharing what was currently working well. Then we dreamed about what the ideal work environment and collectively designed action plans that could be implemented into the work culture. We ended the day with everyone sharing their personal commitments on what they will do to create the new culture they want to see! What made this session so great? ??Having buy-in from the leadership team and them being proactive to leading through change ??Using the Q12 engagement survey to assess the culture and level of engagement for the center beforehand which also gave everyone the opportunity to share their thoughts and feedback on the current culture. ??Everyone showing up, being engaged and participating during entire the session. It was a jammed packed with lots of learning and activities aimed at building collaboration and empowering the team to be the change they want to see!
