Congratulations to Jaila Richard, RN at Arrington Living Center, for being selected as Covington County Hospital's Employee of the Quarter! - Jaila is a 2021 graduate of William Carey University, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Additionally, she completed the Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification, which allows her to assess, manage, and treat trauma patients. She plans to further her education by studying for her Master's in Nursing (MSN). She graduated salutatorian from Collins High School in 2016. She has been employed at Covington County Hospital for nine months, and before CCH, she worked at Merit Health Wesley in Hattiesburg as an ER Staff RN. “I love working with all the staff at Arrington Living Center – they make the job enjoyable,” says Jaila. “It feels great sharing the knowledge I gained throughout my nursing career with other nurses and CNAs.” Jaila is a resident of Seminary and is married to her husband of three years, Kordell McInnis. They have two children, Gracen age 5, and one-year-old Kreed. “It definitely feels like home here at Covington County Hospital, especially since I’m a native,” said Jaila. “The environment is extremely positive here.” . . . . . #healthcareheroes #healthcarejobs

She is originally from Louisiana and currently lives in Simpson County. She is married with two children and enjoys reading and hiking, and you can usually catch the family somewhere on a baseball field. “From a young age, I’ve felt a strong calling to help others, particularly those who are facing difficult times. This desire was born from my own experience receiving social work support. Having been on the receiving end of such care, I knew I wanted to have the same positive impact on others. Covington County Hospital's behavioral services Covington Place Therapy & Counseling, Brightside IOP, and the Senior Care Unit are being showcased and represented today at the Gulf Coast Social Work Conference at the IP Casino Resort in Biloxi. Cambri Brewer, LMSW, and Karen Sanford, Marketing Coordinator, are on site through Friday promoting our services to over 650 attendees from across the south.

Congratulations to Susan Duty, Medical Laboratory Scientist, who has been named Employee of the Quarter (3rd Quarter 2024)! - A native of Collins, Susan has been with Covington County Hospital for over 34 years; her first day of work at CCH was June 25, 1990. Her career began after she graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi, where she earned a Bachelor of Science In medical laboratory science. She worked at Wesley Medical Center in Hattiesburg (now Merit Health Wesley) followed by a stint at Jones County Community Hospital (now South Central Regional Medical Center) before coming to CCH. She is certified by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) and the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science. As a medical technologist, Susan enjoys the immediacy of helping patients. "When someone comes into the emergency room, we are able to help them immediately," says Duty, "and I really enjoy that." Susan is a member of Collins Methodist Church where she loves decorating the sanctuary for Christmas. She also enjoys traveling, especially on the cruises she has taken to Cozumel, the Bahamas, and Jamaica. "It really is about family at Covington County Hospital," says Duty. "Although there's a lot of newer people I don't know, this is the place to work - the grass is not greener anywhere else."
