2025 marks the Universal Jubilee which is a major global spiritual and cultural event that happens every 25 years. Tens of millions of pilgrims will flock to Rome throughout the year. That means that the fabulous but already over-touristed city will be bursting at the seams with visitors. If you go to Rome, go off-season (it will still be crowded), plan far in advance, and book activities for the afternoon (mornings are traditionally busier). Unless you are specifically going to the Vatican for a Jubilee event, consider exploring other areas of this wonderful country and save Rome for next year.
