American Hospital Association identified the top security challenges encountered by the healthcare industry last year. Among them were digital supply chain security and meeting stricter security guidance from U.S. Health and Human Services (HHS). The Bad News? According to The HIPAA Journal there were 66 large healthcare data breaches in January, the second most for that month since 2020. ???? The Good News? Only (only...) 2.7M individuals were affected, a substantial decrease from January 2024 when 9.7M people had their protected health information (PHI) compromised.
