Covered works with survivors over 18 years old, assisting them and their children with a chance to change their lives for the better. We know more than anything that these victims need love and positive direction. After such a traumatizing experience, their brain functions are not the same and they need help to change the behaviors their minds have been manipulated with and assistance to make decisions on their own. We offer a healthy community full of caring coaches that have been trained to help with these unique needs, teaching and often re-teaching life skills that can help these survivors obtain jobs, making them self-sufficient and empowered to break the bondage they’ve been held by for so long. We believe if we can change the cycles of survivors post-rescue, then we can transform the sex trafficking industry by helping victims realize they can take back their independence.

Our SafeNight Project ensures that survivors who need to relocate out of state have a safe haven during their transition. Here are the key details: 1. Hotel Accommodation: The SafeNight Project offers survivors a few nights’ stay in a secure hotel. This temporary refuge allows them to escape unsafe situations and gain some respite while they plan their next steps. 2. Out-of-State Relocation: Due to safety concerns, some survivors cannot remain in Colorado. Whether it’s to avoid traffickers, seek legal assistance, or access specialized services, relocating out of state is often necessary. SafeNight bridges this critical gap. 3. Decision-Making Support: Survivors face complex decisions during this vulnerable time. We believe in making good happen for everyone. And that Coloradans (or anyone) can do so anytime they want. Did you know Colorado was ranked the 10th highest in the nation for reports of human trafficking in 2023? Common Sense Institute did a study with the FBI of the amount of cases reported in 2023 throughout the United States and Colorado ranked 10th highest out of the rest of the states. This alarming statistic underscores the urgent need for awareness and action among Coloradans and the need for support of nonprofits making a difference for this cause. At Covered Colorado, we empower trafficking survivors over the age of 18 toward healing and self-sufficiency. Recently, we opened our second safe house focusing on crisis care for trafficking survivors. We have heard from our local partners in law enforcement and other agencies in the state, crisis cases are going up. We at Covered Colorado are determined to meet this need that Colorado is experiencing. We couldn't do this important work without the help of the community.
