At the Rally to End Youth Homeless, Wells Fargo announced a $300,000 grant to support our transitional living programs in NYC, Atlanta, Orlando, St. Louis, & Los Angeles. These “Rights of Passage” opportunities are an invaluable next step for many young people overcoming homelessness. Youth live in Rights of Passage houses for around 18-24 months, planning for an independent future while still having access to the supportive services they need. And as a part of their funding effort, Wells Fargo teams will dive into the work across these sites through volunteer projects and programming efforts. Transitional housing is one of the most powerful components of the work we do to help young people overcome homelessness for good. In 2021, we analyzed outcomes for 564 young people who exited our transitional living programs. Of those 564 youth, 73% exited the program to stable housing, and 69% were employed or enrolled in school when they left the program. Thanks to Wells Fargo, we will be able to offer this life-changing support to young people across the U.S. “I have a plan now. I have something to begin with. Chris attended his first Sleep Out last year and it has left a lasting impact on him!
