Here are some thoughts from our CEO Chris Saltz about the influential women in construction who have shaped his career and are shaping Couts!

Q: April, what inspired you to pursue a career in the Construction/HVAC industry? A: I began my career in the construction industry working in an administrative role, handling tasks like payroll, estimating assistance, and proposal preparation. Over time, I moved into an Executive Assistant position with a small general contractor, where I had the chance to work closely with the owner, project managers, and design team. This is where I really developed an interest in the industry. I found it rewarding to be involved in projects that were constantly evolving and presented new challenges. From there, I transitioned to working with an electrical subcontractor as a Contract Administrator and Project Coordinator. It was during this time that I saw opportunities to step in and help fill gaps in scheduling, material ordering, and field coordination. This experience eventually led to a position as Assistant Project Manager, and later as Project Manager. While it wasn’t a role I initially sought out, I found that I enjoyed the challenge and the chance to take on more responsibility.
