On Friday September 27, 2024, Lexington County Fire Service responded to 534 emergency calls for service during Hurricane Helene. Also beginning at 8 a.m. on that Friday until Monday, October 7, 2024 LCFS provided an Engine Company to support the Circle Volunteer Fire Department during their time of grief in the loss of two volunteer firefighters as a direct result of this Hurricane. LCFS deployed three members of SCFT-1 to Pickens County and seven members to Greenville County for a week to assist in the aftermath of the storms. In response to request from North Carolina LCFS deployed four additional members with SCTF-1 to North Carolina to assist in rescue missions.
