Jessica Moncada recently received the 2024 Edward J. Loughran Outstanding Leadership Award from CJJA for her leadership and commitment to implementing the mission values and goals of CJJA.?? ? Thrive Academy, part of the Maryland Department of Juvenile Services, was recently awarded the 2024 CJJA Inspiration Innovation Award to honor the program’s outstanding achievements in juvenile justice innovation. ? Great to present with Neda Jasemi of the National Association of Medicaid Directors and Elizabeth Buck of the Center for Health Care Strategies this morning at the Council of Juvenile Justice Administrators (CJJA) Summer Business Meeting in Nashville regarding a consequential new federal Medicaid policy which, if well implemented, will yield better outcomes for system involved youth and their families. We engaged in a remarkable conversation with youth justice administrators early Sunday morning in Nashville (that requires dedication!) with many sharing bold visions and hopes for how these and related opportunities could open doors to better meet the needs of young folks in their own homes and communities. With that being said, we are thrilled to share that a Call for Papers has been issued for Journal Issue #19. ICPA invites submissions for the 19th Edition, which will focus on "Excellence in Juvenile Justice Policy and Practice." This is a fantastic opportunity for researchers to collaborate with thought leaders and practitioners to contribute to the ongoing discourse in juvenile justice worldwide. ??
