I always come back from conferences with new books, articles, and online publications to be fit into my constant stack of reading materials that never seems to disappear. It only changes covers and titles but the height generally remains the same. I dream of the day that I can catch up on it all. From Bogotà, I brought back a few, and right away jumped on the first edition of the CII Case Book, masterfully produced by Ronald Bosman, Heidi J. T. E., Larry Gurwin, CFE, and Steve L., all distinguished members of the Council of International Investigators (CII). The book contained real-life case stories from many members of the same elite group of international investigators. All stories were excellent reads, and all captured my attention, provided me with different perspectives on solving cases, and taught me a few new tricks. But among the stories of murder, fraud, and million dollars schemes, the one that stood out the most for me, was a story about a missing boy in Panama, written by Brett Mikkelson. Brett skillfully captured the essence of investigative process flowing back and forth between communication with the client, conducting preliminary inquiries, gathering of intelligence, conducting ground operations, cooperating with law enforcement, legal teams, courts, international juridictions, general public, using various tools and media resources, failing, recuperating, failing again, reorganizing, incorporating new tools and new methods, not giving up, going pro-bono, being set up, betrayed, getting caught in the mare of corruption, and finally, prevailing at the end after long months of tedious work, thus returning the boy back home to his mother in the U.S. What a case and what an exceptional read! As a private investigator and as a loving father, I had tears in my eyes when I finished the story. I kept on turning it in my own head, thinking of how and what I would have done, and what lesson I should take away from it. Thank you Brett Mikkelson for this story, and for all your hard work and contributions to the industry, as well as for the amazing reception in Bogotà celebrating another great year of the Council of International Investigators (CII)!

It's been two weeks since I came back from Bogotà's Council of International Investigators (CII) conference. It was an absolute success and we all had amazing time, learning, networking, touring, winning trophies, donating to local charity, and enjoying the amazing city, its culture, its hospitality, and its cousine. Organizers and hosts were just awesome, the venue was perfect, the gala was so much fun, that I have to say that what happened in Bogotà, must stay in Bogotà! Due to the mighty hand of divine providence (a.k.a. a few members of the board and many other members of the Council), I was also elected to the Board of Directors of the Council of International Investigators (CII). To be among the most elite professionals is already a privilege and an honour. But to serve among such professional members of the current board is pure joy and priceless! The bar set by the team is high and I will be listening, learning, and hoping to be useful and contributing! Special thank you to Christopher Nielsen S.I.I. for introducing me to the CII, to Brian King for mentorship, to John W. for pushing me forward, and to countless members of the Council of International Investigators (CII) and industry colleagues and friends who believe in me and have been landing a guiding hand along the way (so many to list), I look forward to be of service to the CII and the private investigation industry in general!

It is with great honour we would like to congratulate MADPI GLOBAL President Mr. Roman B., to have been elected to the Board of Directors of the Council of International Investigators (CII), one of the most prestigious private investigation associations in the world. Amendment: It was supposed to be a MADPI GLOBAL post, but something went wrong, and now it looks like I glorify myself, which I do too, but usually not publicly. I hope it clears some of the confusion, but if it doesn't, at least I will pretent that I have a sense of humour.

This morning, I sat down with my coffee and treated myself to a special read: The CII Case Book! This book is the product of many submissions and months of teamwork, led by the Council of International Investigators (CII)'s Ronald Bosman, and co-edited by me, Larry Gurwin, CFE, and Steve L.. We are proud of our efforts and the result – and I am honoured to be part of this project alongside my distinguished peers. The CII Case Book is a compilation of real-life stories from my Private Investigator peers around the globe. Some are thrilling, some a bit humorous, and some involve tragedies. All of them provide insight into the real work that PIs do, and the incredible impact PIs make to people's lives. Although I had seen most of the stories in this book already during the editing process, this morning was the first time I sat down and read them in all, in book form, cover-to-cover. AMAZING work, team! ?????? Here's to many more editions to come! ??

I am thrilled to share that I have been appointed as Officer/Secretary at the Council of International Investigators (CII) and as Chair of the Strategic Planning Committee during the 2024 CII AGM in Bogota, Colombia. It's an immense privilege to step into these roles, and I am eager to contribute to our collective goals. A HUGE congratulations to Gautam Kumar on becoming our new President (and youngest ever!). Gautam, your forward-thinking approach is truly motivating, and I look forward to what we will achieve together. I also extend a warm thank you to Toine Goorts, our outgoing President. Toine, your leadership has shaped our council, and your efforts will undoubtedly have a lasting impact. Thank you for setting such a high bar. As we look to the year ahead, we have so much to look forward to, including our Regional Meetings, implementing Board initiatives - and eventually our AGM in Chicago in 2025.
