  • There's rapidly growing demand for ABA to support people with autism. It's critical to ensure those services are high quality and sustainable to provide good outcomes. That's why CASP has released organizational guidelines for autism service providers. https://lnkd.in/eGYsYwBS The guidelines offer policy, procedure, and infrastructure recommendations that enable practitioners to deliver high-quality ABA services. Volume 1 of 2 is available for purchase in whole or section by section. CASP members get the guidelines for FREE. Learn more at https://lnkd.in/eGYsYwBS

CASP's appeals guide was written by leading health insurance experts to help people understand their appeal rights and explain the process step by step.

  • ACTION NEEDED in both INDIANA and NEW YORK! https://lnkd.in/erxSvWcB Indiana has set a deadline of April 1 for RBTs to get approved under the Indiana Healthcare Program's new credentialing requirements. But we're very concerned that IHCP won't be able to finalize the approval process for the state's 10,548 RBTs by then. So far, only a small fraction have been approved. This is placing children who rely on ABA services in limbo. Please help CASP advocate for expedited approvals and a delay of the current requirement until the backlog is addressed. In New York, Governor Holchul's proposed budget includes a $28.6 million reduction in Medicaid-funded applied behavior analysis (ABA) over the next two years. The reduction focuses on CPT code 97153, the code for direct one-on-one ABA services by a technician (under the supervision of a QHP-LBA). This service accounts for 80-90 percent of billed charges. The proposed rate of $9.63 per 15-minute unit of service would be the lowest publicly available rate in the country. CASP needs your help sharing what access to ABA means for your family. Please act today!

  • Check out CASP's session note templates for every Category 1 adaptive behavior CPT? Code! https://lnkd.in/gUTN4ygJ These templates: - Align with standard medical documentation practices. - Reflect generally accepted standards of care for ABA services in accordance with CASP's Applied Behavior Analysis Practice Guidelines. - Comport with American Medical Association CPT? code requirements. We're thrilled to release these templates to CASP members and to the broader ABA community. With effective advocacy, our hope is for broad payer adoption, resulting in less administrative effort for ABA providers. Until then, it's important to remember that these templates may not meet every payer's requirements. Organizations are responsible for reviewing their individual payer contracts and ensuring the documentation templates meet payer requirements.
