Three of four Universities who are finalists for a community engagement award are CAEP Accredited! East Carolina University, Oregon State University and West Virginia University were among the four regional finalists for the 2024 W.K. Kellogg Foundation Community Engagement Scholarship Award. CAEP is currently working with the Kellogg Foundation to redesign our family engagement modules to assist providers in training candidates to engage families in education! At this week’s CAEPCon The Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation announced nine providers who received recognition for their leadership and commitment to continuous improvement. Among the nine winners was Belhaven University. Congratulations on this wonderful accomplishment!

Stakeholder involvement is a critical component of meeting multiple CAEP Standards at both the initial and advanced levels; but it is also a best practice for creating meaningful assessment processes and a strong support structure for completing accreditation tasks. #CAEPCon

CAEPCon Session Spotlight: What About Bob? Clinical Experience Requirements for Advanced Programs. Relax. It’s not death therapy. Dr. Leo Marvin, sorry, Malina Monaco will explore the intricacies of clinical experiences within advanced educator preparation programs, guided by Advanced Standard RA2. The focus will be on the “BOB” chart, a comprehensive tool designed to clarify whether a clinical experience is necessary for specific advanced programs. For those that may be a little frightened, don’t worry, we won’t be sailing, but Malina will help you take “baby steps” to succeed.
