I had the pleasure of attending the Atlanta Business Chronicle ‘s “Defining Atlanta | Georgia’s Infrastructure: Bridging the Gap” as a guest of the Council for Quality Growth. Amanda Groover, MBA joined me for this program. The event brought together industry experts to discuss the critical role infrastructure plays in fostering economic growth across Georgia. We heard insightful presentations on key topics such as water management, transportation networks, power generation, and freight logistics—each essential to ensuring our state remains competitive and prepared for future growth. Last night, the Council held its 15th Annual #CIDRecognition event at the beautiful Jewel Box at Assembly Studios. This year, we were honored to add Dan Buyers and Joe Allen to our list of deserving CID Award recipients. Dan Buyers, Partner at McWhirter Realty Partners LLC and dedicated 12-year Board Member of the Town Center Community CID, was presented with the 2024 John Williams CID Award by the 2023 recipient, Natalie Tyler-Martin, MBA, RPA. Joe Allen, Executive Director of Gwinnett Place Community Improvement District (GPCID) since its creation in 2006, was presented with the 2024 CID Professional Excellence Award by the 2023 recipient, Jim Durrett. The awards were presented before more than 150 Council members, partners, CID leadership, and other regional supporters of the CID industry. Attendees heard presenting sponsor remarks from Audrey King at Georgia Power Company and Andrew Kohr at Pond & Company, in addition to welcome remarks from Assembly Studios' Mayra Garcia.
