Cultivating meaningful relationships to enhance the built environment.

关于我们

Cotton Architecture + Design was founded on the principles that shared success can be achieved through building meaningful connections and working with a passionate team brought together by a common vision. After years of experience working for other companies, Ryan Short and Steve Goodman branched out on their own to start Cotton Architecture + Design in 2019. The firm was built on the idea that these strong, genuine relationships are the foundations for collaboration and growth and a belief that trust, connection, and partnership are key to creating long-term relationships and achieving consistent results. Cotton Architecture + Design began by specializing in healthcare projects. With experience gained and performance proven on a wide array of healthcare projects such as behavioral health facilities, surgery centers, and medical clinics Cotton has demonstrated success though a wide range of design challenges. This performance has allowed Cotton Architecture + Design to expand into a larger variety of project types and today we are proud to serve the healthcare, industrial, and commercial market sectors across the United States and to continue to grow with and go wherever our clients take us.

  • Huge thank you to Chad and everyone over at Oldcastle for the plant tour, lunch presentation, and construction workshop! Back in January, Team Cotton was invited to tour the Oldcastle plant in West Phoenix. During the tour, we saw how CMU blocks are manufactured here locally in Phoenix from raw materials to finished products. It was fascinating to learn about the manufacturing process and see it up close, watching batches of blocks of varying size, color, use, and finish, start and finish the process. After our tour, we had the chance to put our skills to the test! Learning from skilled tradesmen, we took turns learning how to construct a CMU wall and how to apply a stucco finish system. This experience gave us a much more intimate understanding of how much time it takes to truly master one’s craft and highlights the hard work and dedication required in the skilled trades here locally and everywhere. Thank you to everyone at Oldcastle for a wonderful morning!

Strategist in B2B, Professional Services, Manufacturing, & NonProfits | Scaling Brands with Data-Backed Innovation

Grit. Growth. Great Design. Some firms have it. Others chase it. I sat down with Ryan Short, co-founder of Cotton Architecture + Design, llc to talk about what it takes to scale an architecture firm without losing its soul. Hint: it’s not about winning more projects; it’s about playing the long game, making bold moves, and refusing to settle for cookie-cutter design. We get into the real talk on: - The ugly truths about growing an AEC firm - How to balance creativity with cold, hard business strategy - What the future of architecture looks like ?? Listen in: https://lnkd.in/gECD2zaR Thanks, Ryan Short, for being a part of the conversation! #Architecture #AECIndustry #BuildBetter #DesignMatters #ThriveMarketing #CottonArchitecture

  • Cotton celebrated the end of the year with an artistic teambuilding activity, glassblowing! It was an engaging— and warm!— experience learning the method and craftmanship that goes into creating such elegant work. Everyone was able to make something; our favorites included drinking glasses, paper weights, and hanging globes! We’re ready to head back for the advanced course!
