On the boards: a fresh new facility for the Carbondale Clay Center. The Carbondale Clay Center (CCC), a non-profit community arts center located 40 miles from Aspen, Colorado, has been serving its community for over 25 years. In collaboration with their staff and board, our team is currently designing a vibrant concept for a new facility in order to meet the community’s growing demand for and interest in ceramic arts. We take great pride in pursuing work that directly impacts the communities we live, work, and recreate in, and look forward to sharing more as this project progresses. Strategically integrated into the heart of Telluride, the project sets a new standard for affordable housing by prioritizing indoor/outdoor spaces, stunning views, and high-quality, thoughtful design in the creation of homes for the essential workers who keep these vibrant mountain communities running year-round. This housing project offers 27 deed-restricted residential units, including studios, one-bedroom, two-bedroom, three-bedroom, and four-bedroom apartments that fit into a central piece of the town. VooDoo caters to households with income levels between 110% and 170% of the area median income (AMI). In addition to the residential spaces, the development includes approximately 3,000 square feet of ground-level commercial space, a public restroom, and a revitalized historic shed that is being transformed into a lively youth recreation space. https://lnkd.in/gbSQF2vS #ccyarchitects #affordablehousing #telluride #colorado?

We are excited to announce that the fireplace at our Elk Range Overlook residence was an Honor Winner in ARCHITECT Magazine 's annual Residential Architect Design Awards! As ARCHITECT Editor-in-Chief Paul Makovsky noted, "“It’s a real focal element of the space, and the materiality is rich in detail.” The RADA program celebrates projects that push the boundaries of residential design—emphasizing innovation, sustainability, and a deep connection to place. Selected from over 200 submissions, this year’s winners represent the best in contemporary housing. https://lnkd.in/gkV7KZs6 We are grateful to the esteemed jury for recognizing our work and inspired by the projects shaping the future of residential architecture! Set in a stretch of wilderness in Big Sky, Montana, just north of Yellowstone National Park, Ulery’s Lake is a new neighborhood within Moonlight Basin. Looking to create an unparalleled family-oriented experience combining recreation and luxury, the developers of Ulery’s Lake hired CCY Architects to design a guest lodge with private residences as well as a collection of contemporary duplexes and cabins. Situated around its namesake body of water, the site offers spectacular views of Lone Mountain and has ecological diversity on par with Yellowstone National Park. Because the site is covered with Lodgepole pine, a core parameter was to keep buildings low, so as not to interrupt the treeline. CCY, therefore, closely evaluated not only building elevations but also carefully placed buildings on site, nestling them into existing topography, and, from the lake, concealing structures from view. Designed to support outdoor-oriented programming, the lodge includes a restaurant, workout center, basketball court, gear outfitters, ski lockers, pool, rock climbing wall, indoor kids facility, and a bar. CCY identified a material palette—wood, stone, steel and fiber cement panels—that created consistency across the community, but subtle variations give each set of buildings its own unique identity. https://lnkd.in/eDai4Qp #ccyarchitects #uleryslake #moonlightbasin #bigsky #montana #architecture

A full-service luxury resort, Edgewood Tahoe is designed to embrace the feeling of Grand Lodges of the American West while elevating the level of luxury. The entry sequence begins with a cantilevered porte cochere roof and continues along a nearly 90-foot-long stone and steel supported covered walkway and through a two-story glazed vestibule before reaching the living room, a monumental space with 38-foot-tall floor to roof windows overlooking a generous paved terrace to the lawn, beach, Lake Tahoe, and the mountains beyond. Certified LEED Silver by the US Green Building Council, this project occupies nearly half a mile of Lake Tahoe waterfront and incorporates extensive improvements to holding, treatment, and discharge of storm water from the densely developed core of Lake Tahoe into its landscape. These measures resulted in the regulatory agencies agreeing that the project is an environmental enhancement to one of the nation’s most carefully managed ecosystems.
