Tierra Whack is a one-of-a-kind creative genius who's committed to doing good in the world. As a Philly native, she's focused on giving back to the schools and youth of her hometown to empower kids to reach their full creative potential. “I want to be that mentor that I don’t really feel like I had outside of my mom. So, I’m taking that role and telling them ‘Hey, listen, I’m going to help as much as I can and just try to put it back into the city I came from, Philly.’” —Tierra It was an honor working with Tierra to tell her Music For Good story. Climate action and poverty relief—we believe you can't have one without the other. And that's why Cotopaxi first signed #theclimatepledge in June 2022. On the climate action side, we're committed to reducing our carbon footprint—including the notoriously difficult-to-tackle Scope 3 emissions associated with our manufacturing partners. We also choose recycled and certified responsible materials, and have been an industry leader in our use of leftover deadstock fabric, which has an estimated 30% lower carbon footprint on average than virgin materials. On the poverty relief side lies the Cotopaxi Foundation, to which we dedicate at least 1% of revenue. Through the Foundation's impact partners—including Mercy Corps, Range of Motion Project, and CARE Ecuador—we support health, education, and livelihood initiatives for the poorest communities in Latin America and beyond. ? There’s a robusta revolución brewing in Ecuador. Arabica coffee gets all the glory, but in a warming world, the future just might be robusta. That’s why Andrea and Favio are leading their community in changing how robusta is grown and perceived, thanks in part to the support of Cotopaxi Foundation partner The Chain Collaborative (TCC). In honor of #InternationalCoffeeDay we’re sharing Part 3 of our Ecuador Impact series and it’s all about robusta. Last fall, we visited Andrea and Favio’s cafe and farm and saw firsthand how our partner The Chain Collaborative is helping them become leaders in the global fine robusta movement. This heat-resistant, resilient coffee bean is increasingly considered an important crop in the face of climate change. Right now Andrea and Favio are working with 100+ farmers to optimize robusta production and create sustainable livelihoods for Indigenous Amazonians like themselves. On our impact trip last fall to the Ecuadorian Amazon, we caught up with two Cotopaxi Foundation nonprofit partners transforming communities through sustainable crops, from tea leaves and coffee to heirloom jungle peanuts. Here are 7 of our favorite photos from the trip: 1. Glenda and her mom Luduvina pick Guayusa tea leaves 2. Luchano and his wife check on their backyard plants: pineapple, yucca, and heirloom jungle peanuts 3. Esteban (our Ecuadorian videographer) and his drone were a hit with little locals 4. Maria tends to a vanilla bean plant in her chakra garden (an ancestral farming technique focused on biodiversity) 5. An instructor from our Foundation partner ALIADOS holds a community workshop on growing & processing plantains 6. Beatrice washes fresh-caught tilapia for breakfast during a guayusa tea ceremony at 4:30am 7. Squirrel monkeys, clown monkeys, mono payaso—they go by many names and do all the monkey things Stay tuned for the final story in our Ecuador Impact series on Oct. 1 (World Coffee Day) and check out more of our favorite photos here: https://lnkd.in/gYzvpNFa

Inspired by starry skies, deep space, and lava rocks, the Del Día Dark Collection is back, just in time for the Perseid Meteor Shower peak this weekend ???? This time, our all-new Allpa 35L Travel Pack is available in this unique color drop, along with our Batac 16L daypack and Kapai 1.5L Hip Pack. Like our entire Del Día Collection, these packs are made from 100% leftover fabric that might have otherwise gone to the landfill. For Del Día dark, that means the trim is colorfully unique—no two packs are alike. Explore the Dark drop here: https://lnkd.in/gctmngKs

Right before we launched our new Allpa, we asked our community where they'd taken this iconic travel pack since we launched it 8 years ago. We were floored by the response: 2,000+ travelers responded and told us they'd taken their Allpas collectively to 1,556 cities visited, all 50 U.S. states, and 131+ countries (2/3rds of the world's countries!). Check out our interactive map of where the Allpa pack has been—and tell us where you plan to take it next.
