?? A personal story of gratitude. As we all roll up our sleeves and get elbow deep in the business of building great cybersecurity programs, products, and service offerings, it can be easy to forget the most important thing in life. Decades after our current professional endeavors are long since out of our lives, the people we love and our memories with them will be what we have left. Some of my favorite people on this platform can often be found in various posts leading by example in this department: Chris Hughes Jesse Miller Cole Kennedy ?? ?? …to name a few. But it’s a little more rare to see examples of companies putting these relationships first. I want to take this moment to, in hindsight, call out my employer Simbian for doing just that. They didn’t ask for any recogition or ever mention it, but when my family was displaced by hurricane Helene with no clean water or power for weeks, Simbian paid to evacuate us to a safe, peaceful escape where we could rest and recover for the week. And it is for that reason that until my CEO exits the company, it doesn’t matter how much you offer me, I will be with Simbian, building the best AI SOC product in the world. It wasn’t a huge amount of money to them, but it meant the world to me.
