Members from the New York Cosentini team had the pleasure of attending the 40th Precinct Station House ribbon cutting. This 43,000 SF police precinct demonstrates a minimum 25% energy reduction, the building features efficient mechanical systems, low flow water fixtures, and energy star certified equipment. It was great contributing to the OXMAN project, a two-story, 36,000 sf space, including design offices, a library, wet lab, production studio, and more. This project's HVAC systems include 100% outside air systems with energy recovery to provide a once through ventilation system for the lab spaces. They are also provided with humidification and lab exhaust connections, as well as pressure monitoring controls to balance the spaces. The non-lab areas are provided with a decoupled dedicated outside air system that provides ventilation air to individual VRF AC units to provide either heating or cooling, simultaneously, to individual spaces.
