An ensemble of long-serving, global leaders in international development and humanitarian assistance

关于我们

Corus International is an ensemble of long-serving, global leaders in international development and humanitarian assistance committed to ending poverty and building healthy communities across Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean, the Middle East, and Africa. Made up of several non-profit and for-profit organizations – Lutheran World Relief, IMA World Health, CGA Technologies, Ground Up Investing, and Farmers Market Brands – the Corus family's global networks expand wide and our local partnerships run deep. Alongside communities and local partners in fragile settings, Corus' dedicated experts across the family of organizations integrate disciplines, approaches and resources to overcome global health challenges, develop productive and stable economies, improve resilience in the face of climate change, and respond to natural disasters and humanitarian crises. With the support of our family's diverse set of partners and funding – from multi- and bilateral institutions and foundations to the private sector and individuals – we invest in solutions that are innovative, scalable, holistic and move the needle towards transformational change. Our dedicated experts around the globe work together to bring life-saving aid and long-term hope to even the most fragile corners of the world and in the most challenging of circumstances. We connect disciplines, approaches and people because we know that the more collaboration we can efficiently achieve, the wider, more systemic impact we can create. It’s belief and action, in harmony.

Imagine fleeing for your life with nothing but your children in your arms. That was the heartbreaking reality for many families during South Sudan’s civil war and the devastating floods that followed. When displaced families arrived in Ayod, South Sudan, they had nothing — not even a bucket to carry water home. For these women, a bucket is more than just a container; it’s a lifeline. ??? Our team distributed over 1,000 buckets and jerry cans to internally displaced women in Ayod so they could bring safe drinking water home. We also supported nearly 8,000 households with critical education on safe water practices, helping them protect their loved ones from waterborne diseases. Women, like those pictured here, have become community champions, teaching others about the importance of safe water through peer-to-peer groups. These efforts have created a ripple effect, spreading knowledge far beyond the initial recipients. ??Access to safe water is critical to human health and well-being. We celebrate that thousands of IDPs now have safe water for drinking, cooking and cleaning as they rebuild their lives in Ayod. #Water #SouthSudan #LOSIH #CommunityChampions

  • ???? Happy National Potato Chip Day! Have you ever thought about the story behind each bag of these salty snacks? We want to tell you about one such story from Castrovirreyna, Peru. Over a decade ago, a terrible drought ravaged the remote Andean region, causing malnutrition rates to rise. Corus organization Lutheran World Relief stepped in and began working with our local partner CEDINCO to address food security and strengthen sustainable livelihoods. Through collaborative efforts in the years since, indigenous farmers are now utilizing organic production methods, improving crop yields, and transforming their surplus produce into a viable source of income. And the story gets even more vibrant with the region's colorful native potatoes! As part of a cooperative, farmers are now producing potatoes for the international market, with their spuds traveling as far as Europe to be processed into artisan chips. At Corus, we’re committed to planting seeds of hope for the future, one potato at a time. Happy snacking! #NationalPotatoChipDay #InternationalMarkets #Nutrition #Peru

  • ???? Meet Taapsee Chaudhary. ???? She’s carving out her family’s economic future in rural Nepal through carpentry. For years, Taapsee and her husband struggled to make ends meet. But despite taking on every opportunity available to them, financial hardships weighed heavily on their family. Everything changed when Taapsee took a bold step to enroll in vocational training through Corus organization Lutheran World Relief, choosing carpentry—a field dominated by men—over more traditional paths like tailoring or farming. With a few months of training, financial literacy lessons, and the necessary tools in hand, Taapsee launched her own carpentry business. Today, she works alongside her brother-in-law and a small team, her monthly income surging from 15,000 NPR to an inspiring 50,000 NPR! She is building a better future for her children by sending them to school and working towards constructing a new home. ?? Watch the full video to see how Taapsee’s determination and Lutheran World Relief’s training opened up new opportunities for her and her family and inspired women in her community to break barriers for their own success. #Women #Nepal #Entrepreneurship #SmallBusiness #Carpentry
