Anyone know a good digital and/or flexo technology for printing on compostable PLA? HP reportedly has stuff but it's very high volumes and very expensive.

Reducing plastic waste and climate change through advanced materials science
关于我们
Corumat is a materials science focused on fighting climate change. We are starting to sell packaging under the Big Green Loop? brand. It is greaseproof, insulating, BPI certified, ASTM D6400 compostable, and made in the USA. We currently mainly use GreenScreen? certified corn-based to ensure our products are safe and free of known hazardous chemicals.

We're hosting an event at 9Zero Climate Impact Hub in Downtown Seattle, on 11/19 at 1:30 PM. We'll be discussing how we've raised $8M in grants for the circular economy to date, and how we're hoping to raise $100M+ more to make Washington State a circular economy hub and eventually eliminate >5% of climate change through biomanufacturing. We're currently collaborating with Washington State University National Renewable Energy Laboratory Argonne National Laboratory and others on grants, and we're looking for more collaborators. Please spread the word. https://lu.ma/01irsavs Washington State Department of Ecology NextCycle Washington Amazon John Shane Aleema G. Heather Trim Anne Dodge

I see a fair number of posts with, "Why is everything wrapped in plastic?!?!". It's because it drastically reduces food loss, which will help reduce climate change. The image below shows "open" broccoli, vs broccoli wrapped in stretch wrap. Food waste generates ~8% of climate change, and simply eliminating plastic could exacerbate this problem. Sustainable packaging (such as using carbon negative raw materials from TripleW) and recovering both food waste and packaging could help solve the issues. https://lnkd.in/g4ZnUshG
