Last month, Corporate Startup Lab was proud to partner with Deloitte to host our 6th Annual Corporate Entrepreneurship Forum at the Carnegie Mellon University - Tepper School of Business. Attended by hundreds or corporate innovators, executives, venture capitalists, traditional entrepreneurs, and students, the Corporate Entrepreneurship Forum showcased how to Drive Value to Scale through Accelerating Innovation! Reminder that Applications for the Spring 2025 CSL Project Course are now open to all Carnegie Mellon University Graduate and PhD students! In this course, students will conduct background research, talk to potential customers, run lean tests or experiments, and iterate on a product or service until they a) find an identifiable market and business model that could work or b) demonstrate conclusively that the idea should not be pursued as a venture. Last week, CSL held it's 3rd Annual nationwide, all graduate student Case Competition, sponsored by PNC Bank. The prompt challenged 60 teams participating teams from over 20 colleges and universities to craft a solution for a Financial Wellness issue that employees within large and mid size companies face today. Six teams representing Carnegie Mellon University, Case Western Reserve University, Colorado State University, University of Notre Dame, and Washington University in St. Louis participated in the final round in Pittsburgh at the Carnegie Mellon University - Tepper School of Business in front of a panel of distinguished judges. In the end, the grand prize went to the team from Case Western, featuring Cassandra Groves, Shubhankar Sinha and Tejaswini Rane! Leo Lian, Vera Li, Chengxing(Johnny) Zou placed second for Carnegie Mellon, and Kalyan Likith, Sandeep Kumar Reddy Anam, Qie (Michael) Wang, and Nandini Neelayyagari, FCA finished third for Washington St. Louis. Please congratulate these individuals and all students that participated in the 2024 CSL/PNC Financial Wellness Case Competition!
