What happens when the best and brightest minds #CMMC all converge in one place? Unbridled learning, experience sharing, and advancement of the CMMC ecosystem and the #DiB alike. With over 800 organizations represented, the CMMC ecosystem and implementation conference (CEIC) was the semi-annual convergence of the individuals and organizations tasked with making application and assessment of the CMMC program across the DiB. I've spent the last few days with fellow CMMC experts, each a professional student and SME simultaneously. The duality of this group is amazing. Most are humble and eager to share, listen, and learn. We have laughed, heard an amazing (and spot on) analogy of CMMC as a trip to the airport, learned, shared innovative strategies to optimize and make the implementation process less complex and less expensive, and most importantly built connections between the DoD, Government, OSCs, MSPs/ESPs, and C3PAOs that will only make this endeavor better (and smoother) for all stakeholders involved. The challenge to improve the cybersecurity posture of the DiB, it's a massive undertaking. really massive. Nothing less than a tectonic shift of *business* culture and practices. Sure there's tech involved, but this is a change in how the DiB does business, not just a change in some IT systems. It's far bigger than any one company or any one individual. This IS a national security issue. I feel so privileged to be a part of this effort. I and the work CorpInfoTech are doing is just one tiny piece. We have a few decades of experience in regulated industries. We know a thing or two about meeting(and exceeding) regulatory requirements while also actually securing the business. We were first movers in the CIS world and now are first movers in the CMMC world as a (soon to be) C3PAO certified ESP's. It's a natural fit and continuation of our existing mission. But, personally, I feel so excited and optimistic that I can leave my fingerprints on something that will make this great nation a little more secure and a little better than I found it. #SMBs in the #DiB, let's do this! it's not impossible. it's not an insurmountable challenge. You've done more difficult things. you are probably doing something more challenging right now. Together, SMBs literally have built this nation. Let's approach this the same way.
