MOLMOL KUO Taiwan (Province of China) / United States (b. 1981) "Traveling Lights #6" Photo: Zach Lieberman New Glass Review 44 "In 'Traveling Lights #6,' US-based artist Kuo affixed a meandering trail of incandescent neon onto a piece of used cardboard. The eye-catching neon pulses through a range of pinks, purples, oranges, and reds, and signals the artist's presence, her refusal to be made invisible. She then has photographs of herself holding it taken in various locations. Against the defensive posture adopted by Kuo, the work becomes shield-like and suggests and act of self-preservation in the face of anti-Asian rhetoric and hate crimes, which have proliferated since the COVID-19 pandemic." - Alpesh Kantilal Patel, Art Historian, Curator, and Critic.

With the Watkins Glen International NASCAR race coming up, I want to share something I've been working on. The Corning Museum of Glass is a proud partner of Watkins Glen International, and creates the glass trophy for its NASCAR race each August. Earlier this year we filmed the glassmaking process and produced a short video highlighting all the hard work and dedication our Hot Glass Team puts into this initiative. The video will be shown at the race in September, but in the meantime it will be on our socials for everyone to see. I am excited to share that video with you. Watch it on the CMoG YouTube channel here:?https://lnkd.in/eGUNMqw4 ?? ?? Alexis Gethin ?? Brad Patocka
