At Cornerstone General Contractors, the safety of our crew, partners, and surrounding community is central to delivering the best construction experience in Alaska. While safety is a shared responsibility on every job site, maintaining oversight of protocols—spanning all trades, scopes of work, and their interactions—is essential. This week at Anchorage School District's Inlet View Elementary School, as steel rose to shape the new building’s framework, we were joined by our dedicated safety partners at SafeLogic . Safety professionals like Christina Lien (pictured) work seamlessly with our team to uphold our commitment to making safety a top priority on every project.

关于我们
Since 1993, Cornerstone General Contractors, Inc., has fostered a flexible approach to construction based on cooperation, innovation, and accountability. Since inception, Cornerstone’s mission is to give people their best construction experience. In our 25 years we’ve learned that being the best is a process that depends as much on our clients, subcontractors, and other partners as it does on the personnel we maintain. Since great buildings don’t get built in a bubble, we remain personable and open in all of our relationships. Experience has taught us that this is the only way to overcome project demands and unforeseen obstacles. Through the years we’ve learned that success is always proportionate to our team’s cohesiveness, creativity, and reliability. DEVELOP | DESIGN | BUILD

The fall edition of Alaska Contractor, an article highlights Associated General Contractors of Alaska members recognized in Alaska Business Magazine's "Best of Alaska Business" list, including Cornerstone General Contractors. In this article, our President Joe Jolley shared his thoughts on the recognition: “Cornerstone’s mission is to build a better Alaska, which we believe can only be accomplished by delivering the best construction experience for all involved—from our teammates and clients to our designers and subcontractors. Being recognized as one of the top general contractors in Alaska lets us know that we are on the right track.” Thank you for ranking us among the best! We appreciate this recognition as we continue our commitment to building a better Alaska. (Link to digital version of article in the comments below??)

While our work at Minto School nears closer to completion, the benefits of the new facilities—including a new gym—will be felt for years to come. A community known for its basketball prowess, the gym will serve much more than just student athletes. For the local community and surrounding areas, the school and gym will offer a versatile space for a wide range of events. Cornerstone General Contractors is honored to have played a role in enhancing this essential community hub.

While Cornerstone General Contractors, Inc. is currently on-campus expanding UAA's College of Health with the transformation of Sally Monserud Hall, this is just one of the projects we have delivered for Alaska's largest educational institution – and not the first for healthcare students, either! In this #FlashbackFriday feature, we're reflecting on our work constructing University of Alaska Anchorage's Health Sciences Building over a decade ago. We are grateful for the opportunity to support the education and training of the next generation of healthcare professionals now and into the future.

We understand the unique challenges posed by completing construction projects in remote communities. From unpredictable weather to complicated logistics, Alaska's communities present particularly significant obstacles - even for the most experienced crews. However, we’re fortunate to have a team that is fully capable of handling these often vital projects. At Norton Sound Health Corporation's Quyanna Care Center in Nome, the Cornerstone General Contractors crew is fortunate to have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact with their work. Once complete, the center will be able to serve an additional 12 elders in Alaska, providing essential care and helping to preserve cultural heritage through serving those who embody it.
