The Center of Excellence for Food and Agriculture at Cornell AgriTech connects food and agriculture businesses and entrepreneurs with what they need to succeed. We work with partners across the state to increase the size and scope of the food and agriculture economy in New York by fostering the growth of new companies, new products, and existing businesses. COE clients gain access to Cornell food, beverage and agriculture research; business mentorship; incubators and accelerators; training and education; product development; testing and validation; business-to-business partnerships; supply chain asset resources; connections to processors; manufacturers, production facilities; co-packers warehouses, distribution, retail and marketing services; state, federal and local economic development resources; co-working, lab and manufacturing spaces; aerial drones, digital agriculture and so much more. Hosted by the Center of Excellence for Food and Agriculture at Cornell AgriTech and Cornell Cooperative Extension of Washington County, with support from State Assemblywoman Carrie Woerner, this hands-on workshop will give aspiring food and beverage producers and entrepreneurs an introduction to food safety and product development and provide the framework needed to bring new food and beverage innovations to market. Attendees will be able to bring their food prototypes to test for pH, water activity and other food safety analytics. Yesterday, Seneca Foods Corporation joined us on our Cornell AgriTech campus is Geneva, New York to cut the ribbon on the “Seneca Foods Foundation Pilot Plant,” made possible by a generous $10M gift from the corporation.
