Anya Stansell is the Western New York small fruits specialist for CCE's Harvest New York team, where she assists farmers with growing berries. From cultivating unusual crops like pawpaws to researching how climate change impacts plant behavior, Anya is committed to improving plant health and building a more sustainable agricultural future.

CCE has named Judson Reid the critical issue lead for extension programming in agriculture and food systems. This two-year appointment reflects CCE's commitment to tackling the pressing challenges in agricultural production.

Cornell Cooperative Extension has named Dr. Angela Odoms-Young the critical issue lead for extension programming in the areas of human nutrition, food safety and security and obesity prevention, effective October 1. The appointment reflects CCE's dedication to leveraging campus resources and CCE educators and collaborators across the state to ensure that needs are met and benchmarks for educational work are identified.

This fall, Cornell students enrolled in an engineering communications course are spending their semester introducing 4-H youth to STEM education and career paths. In turn, students are learning how to translate their knowledge in a way that is understandable to different audiences – and preparing them for future success in the workplace.

Cornell Cooperative Extension has named David Kay the critical issue lead for extension programming in the areas of climate change and sustainable energy, effective September 1. The appointment, envisioned as a two-year commitment, reflects CCE's dedication to addressing pressing climate change challenges and sustainable energy education.

Beyond bows and arrows, there are many benefits to participating in a New York State 4-H shooting program. The New York State Milk Bar has become an opportunity for workforce development through a partnership between NYS Department of Agriculture and Markets and Cornell Cooperative Extension. As part of a 4-H youth development workforce program, forty teens were hired by Cornell Cooperative Extension Cayuga County and trained to serve up ice-cold cups of milk at the New York State Fair.

CCE is hiring a Web Community Support Specialist to assist efforts in assembling, testing, documenting, and maintaining web-based programs and applications that extend the educational outreach of CCE. This individual will play a major role in the team’s communications operations across a wide spectrum of internal and external audiences to strengthen CCE’s reputation among key stakeholders.
