Over the weekend, we marked the conclusion of the third cohort of the Cornell University Life Science Technology Innovation Fellows program. MBAs, PhDs, and Post-Docs showcased their businesses in Midtown Manhattan to an engaged audience. This event represented the culmination of a 6-month journey for our fellows. Throughout this period, we consistently pushed their boundaries, shaping their viewpoints and beliefs to equip them with the critical judgment needed to excel as leaders in the life science startup arena. I want to thank all of the participants for their professionalism and purpose throughout the journey; the companies you found and/or join will be lucky to have each of you! Along the journey, many guests gave of their time to speak to the students (and even more to join the board discussions - whom I will thank in a future post). Our remarkable guests for this cohort have included: Geraldine McGinty MD, MBA, FACR, Eve McDavid, Vince Hartman, Piraye Beim, James Golden, Adam Boyko, Murli Manohar, Anthony D'Amato, Andrea Ippolito, Dr. Glennis Mehra, Jenna Ventorino, Li Jiang, Bogdan Knezevic, Tom Schryver, Julie Eagle, Katie E. Hyma, Winthrop (Win) Thurlow, Meg Thompson DVM, DACVR, Tarun Sethi, jie fan, X.Sheryl Zhou, PhD, CFA, Melissa Cohen, Stephen Nowak PhD, Greg Milnarik, Nina Deka, Kayla Wooley, and Chris Lee. The program is led by the Cornell Johnson Graduate School of Management with support from Empire State Development, Sanofi, Medtronic, Entrepreneurship at Cornell, and the Cornell Center for Regional Economic Advancement. I lead the program with support from Clara Lee and my co-instructors Loren A. Busby, CFA, Stephanie Wisner, and Fernando Gómez-Baquero Ph.D.
