Another poll is giving us more hope and joy! In June, this poll showed District 2 as 21 points behind our opponent, Ashley Hinson. Now we are just 4 points behind (with 1% saying other). This is huge! It's also amazing because we are tied with our Democrat friend in the third district although they have raised millions of dollars. We are holding our own! A poll also came out this weekend that said 69% of Iowans are against the 6-week abortion ban in Iowa. And 79% of women in Iowa oppose it. And, here's more news, 32% of Iowa REPUBLICANS say abortion should be legal in all of most cases. My opponent wants a national abortion ban with no exceptions. She would rather have a woman die than have an abortion. It's just not right. And it's not what Iowans want. Please share!

Last year, I wrote a piece about self care and a podcast I really liked from Code Switch. One take-away I had, was for our family to intentionally know our values in life. So here is our list: 1. Stop rushing 2. Set clear boundaries when people hurt us (fool me once) 3. Top priority - our family and people we take care of (we keep a list) Mutual respect and mutual effort put into the relationship (does it feel balanced?) 4. Disability rights 5. LGBTQ+ rights 6. Black Lives Matter (supporting BIPOC communities) 7. Helping people with cancer 8. Helping the underserved 9. Giving people a hand up or at least a fair shot in life 10. Fighting oppressive systems and calling out racism 11. Loving Mother Earth - Upcycling, composting, caring for plants, helping nature grow Our life is 100% better for us following these values.
