“I’m often asked, ‘How did I not know about her? How is she not a household name?’” Nellie Scott said at this week’s preview. “That’s a big part of our mission. Our highest hope is that LA wraps its arms around her.” Thank you Matt Stromberg for sharing this special moment! Hyperallergic

Today, Getty and a coalition of foundations, arts organizations, and individuals created the LA Arts Community Fire Relief Fund. Currently at $12M, the fund will support the arts community impacted by the Los Angeles fires. The ongoing fires have destroyed residences, studios, archives, artworks, and places of employment for LA’s vibrant arts community. Impacted artists and arts workers can visit cciarts.org to apply for an emergency grant starting on January 20. Learn more—including how to contribute: https://gty.art/firerelief

LA friends! The countdown to our reopening in March 2025 has begun, and to celebrate, we’ve put up a very special billboard featuring Corita’s iconic "hope" artwork. We’re keeping the exact location a secret, but here’s a hint: it’s somewhere on Western Avenue in LA. If you find it, snap a pic, tag us, and we’ll share your discovery with the rest of the Corita community! Can’t wait to see it through your eyes!?#CoritaKent #Hope #CoritaArtCenter #FindTheHope Photo credits: MARIO DE LOPEZ Matt Stromberg
