?? Our Service Keeps Getting Better ?? Grant Enables Fare-Free Rides for Youth in Areas Beyond Our Usual Fare-Free Zones! We're thrilled to announce that starting Friday, November 1st, 2024, Core Transit is extending its fare-free program to include all youth ages 18 and under, even in Gypsum and Leadville—areas outside our usual fare-free zones. Thanks to a generous state grant, this initiative will be in effect for a full year, until October 31st, 2025. This program, funded by Senate Bill SB24-032 and managed by CASTA, aims to enhance youth access to reliable public transportation across our region. While most of our system already offers fare-free travel due to the Core Transit sales tax, this grant allows us to eliminate fares for youth traveling to or from Gypsum and Leadville. With her diverse background in both the nonprofit and business sectors, we are confident that she will make an outstanding addition. ? Professionally,?Mitzi?recently spent more than five years supporting camper families and volunteers at Roundup River Ranch, a camp for children with serious medical conditions. There, she managed databases for over 5,500 volunteers and 4,000 campers. She also handles bookkeeping and payroll for her husband's landscaping business. With over 10 years of experience in retail and restaurant management and more than 20 years of customer service experience,?Mitzi?brings a wealth of knowledge and dedication to our team. One of her proudest achievements was serving as a Youth Development Volunteer with the Peace Corps in Morocco in 2004-05. ?
