As we kick off Hispanic Heritage Month, we celebrate this year’s theme “Pioneers of Change: Shaping the Future Together.” In our latest report, More Than A Monolith: The Advancement of Hispanic & Latino/a Talent,?#Coqual?finds many Hispanic & Latino/a professionals are misunderstood, stereotyped and underrepresented in the workplace. Career success doesn’t come from hard work alone. It also requires access to leaders who open doors. Having a sponsor, a senior advocate at their company who is willing to use their power and influence to help advance their career, is an important, career-making relationship. Effective sponsors should encourage their sponsees to bring their authentic selves to work. For more than a decade, Coqual Advisory? sponsorship tools and programs have been showing companies (and leaders) how to make this intentional. Thank you Latino Leadership Institute and research advisor Joelle Martinez for your partnership and help amplifying this important report. We hope the data and findings help empower leaders to build workplaces that foster trust and support Hispanic and Latino/a professionals.
40% of Latino professionals feel pressure to conceal aspects of their identity to advance in their careers. This is a stark reminder that we still have work to do to create truly inclusive workplaces. We're excited to share insights from our collaboration with Coqual on their report, "More than a Monolith." This study sheds light on the complex experiences of Latino professionals and the challenges they face in the workplace. Today is National Disability Independence Day. Join us as we celebrate the 34th anniversary of the Americans with Disability Act (ADA). While progress has been made, there’s still work to be done. #Coqual’s Equity research finds that professionals with disabilities don’t always feel they’re being evaluated fairly. Additionally, their coworkers underestimate their intelligence and assume they are more junior or less credentialed than they are. It’s essential to create workplaces where everyone feels seen, valued, and heard. Coqual Advisory? experts can provide framework, programs, and tools to help leaders listen, support and advocate for all employees. Reach out to [email protected] for more information. Let's continue to advance accessibility and foster a sense of belonging for all professionals. #NationalDisabilityIndependenceDay #ADA #accessibility

Many people with disabilities face huge barriers and unfair discrimination. Join us as we celebrate Disability Pride Month and acknowledge the ongoing fight for inclusion in the workplace. #Coqual's Equity report finds that 21% of professionals with disabilities say they were evaluated more harshly than their peers, while only 11% of professionals without disabilities say the same. Let’s be better allies by breaking down stereotypes, educating ourselves on different disabilities and actively promoting accessibility in the workplace. Together, we can create a more equitable future for everyone. As Pride Month comes to an end, Coqual shines a spotlight on the transgender and gender diverse community. Our research finds that the majority (60%) of transgender and gender diverse professionals in the US say that gender nonconforming employees experience negative stereotypes and social interactions in the workplace. Only 39% of cisgender professionals agree with this statement.? ?? Let's close the gap by creating workplaces where everyone feels safe to be their authentic selves. Let’s champion belonging for our LGBTQ+ colleagues, foster open communication, and celebrate diversity. ?For more information on LGBTQ+ inclusion, visit coqual.org. #PrideMonth #LGBTQ #LGBTQIA

Happy Juneteenth! Join us as we honor the resilience of African Americans and acknowledge the ongoing struggle for equality that continues to affect the community today. #Coqual finds that nearly one in three (30%) Black professionals feel they’re treated unfairly because of their race or ethnicity and are 10 times as likely as White professionals to have this view. This Juneteenth let's empower Black voices to be heard and work to dismantle systemic racism in and out of the workplace. For ways to support Black professionals, visit Coqual.org. #Juneteenth
