CCLP is an antipoverty organization advancing the rights of every Coloradan.
关于我们
Colorado Center on Law and Policy is a non-partisan, nonprofit advocacy organization dedicated to the vision that every Coloradan should have what they need to succeed. Through research and policy analysis, legislative and legal advocacy and coalition building, we advocate to remove barriers that prevent Coloradans from meeting their basic needs and becoming self-sufficient. Standing with diverse communities, organizations, and individuals, we are but one piece of the rising movement to fight poverty in our state. We provide policymakers, opinion leaders, nonprofit organizations and the general public with research and education about issues of import to lower-income Coloradans; we advocate in the legislature and before executive decision makers on behalf of those issues, and we litigate them when necessary. CCLP provides: ? Research and independent legal and policy analysis. ? Education and civic engagement with diverse communities. ? Advocacy on behalf of lower-income Coloradans. ? Litigation and legal action for systemic change. OUR MISSION: The Colorado Center on Law and Policy advocates to advance the health, economic security, and wellbeing of low-income Coloradans through research, education, advocacy, and litigation. OUR GOALS: CCLP works for policies and programs that advance the following goals on behalf of low-income Coloradans: ? Fostering family economic security ? Increasing access to affordable, quality health care ? Promoting responsible and equitable fiscal policies

There is no doubt the minimum wage leads to increased labor costs among employers. However, economic research does not support the assertion that Denver’s higher minimum wage is the cause of the loss of restaurants Denver has seen over in 2024. CCLP had so much fun at Colorado Coalition for the Homeless's Lobby Day!
Yesterday, the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless held its annual Lobby Day! Coalition staff, clients, and community members visited the Capitol to advocate on behalf of bills impacting people experiencing homelessness and at risk of homelessness. Advocates addressed legislators on three specific bills this session: - HB25-1032 - Improving Infrastructure to Reduce Homelessness - SB25-008 - Adjust Necessary Document Program? - HB25-1168 - Housing Justice for Victim-Survivors of Gender-Based Violence While Coalition staff advocate all session long on behalf of our top policy priorities—homelessness prevention and resolution, housing availability and access, healthcare, and economic justice—this is our favorite day of the session as it allows those with personal and professional experience to come to the peoples’ house and speak to their experiences. Additionally, Representative?Junie Joseph?honored the work of Colorado Coalition for the Homeless and Haven of Hope by having members of both organizations as guests on the floor of the House of Representatives. She also led a toiletries donation drive among House members and staffers, and the donations will be split between the two organizations. Thank you to the individuals and organizations who joined us, legislators who engaged with us, and especially to Representative?Manny Rutinel?and Representative?Meg Froelich who took time out of their busy schedules to welcome us. Check out Economic Policy Institute's latest blog on the harmful tip credit bill, HB25-1208, which would lower the minimum wage for tipped workers in Denver and other cities. CCLP is in opposition of HB25-1208 and the data proves why. https://lnkd.in/gdMiy9uV
