THE HOME WE CHOOSE
We all have a place of birth. We did not choose it, nor could we have changed it. This immutable starting place may be many things, but it is not of our choosing. Where you make your home is a choice.
There are many reasons that so many choose the State of Georgia as their home. Love, Hope, safety, and the opportunity to pursue your dreams and realize the best version of yourself are chief among these reasons. This starts with Office of Governor Brian P. Kemp and his team creating a safe, prosperous, and friendly place for the citizens of the Great State of Georgia.
The Cherokee Judicial Circuit Mental Health Court Community Council
(CJCMHCCC) was the product of the shared vision of Stephanie Shook and Judge Rosemary Green. The dual purpose of the council is to raise consciousness of this accountability court's vital role and support the unfunded needs of the participants.
To this end the inaugural 5k "Cupid Run for Hope" on Saturday, February 8th, 2025, was established.
This event had all of the elements that make me proud of my home on display. It is no surprise that Georgia and specifically Bartow County are a shining destination to call "Home" for so many.
The race planning committee was led by Monica Whitfield, Business Development Specialist, CUBDP and Jennifer Hightower. The entire council Steve Arndt, Jeff Drennan, ChFC?, AAMS?, ABFP?, Josee Noble, Terry Faust, Pat Wade, Billy Henson, Courtney Moore, LPC, Rachel Fischer, and Linda Ford Kellogg played key roles in the success of this event. The sacrifice of the treasure of their time in service to others is always inspiring to me.
The Mental Health Court mission was shared in a PSA and an interview with Judge Greene and DA Erle J. Newton III. The Wbhf Radio morning team of Alan Sanders and Mike Garcia bring the information we need to the citizens of Georgia.
