The fifth course of the 2025 CLP class was held last week at Suttle and Stalnaker, PLLC in Charleston. A big thank you to Suttle & Stalnaker PLLC for sponsoring the venue & lunch! The class heard from Drema Foster from Suttle and Stalnaker, PLLC about the basics of human resources. The class also heard from Mike Clowser, retired Executive Director of CAWV, and Pat Parsons, retired Executive Director of the Asphalt Pavement Association of West Virginia, about the importance of ethics in the construction industry. Between courses, participants had the opportunity to visit the State Capitol, where they attended a live legislative session of the Senate. During the trip, they met with Delegate Vernon Criss, who shared insights into his role as Chair of the Finance Committee. Additionally, Delegate Clay Riley engaged with the group, discussing his involvement with the CAWV and emphasized the importance of staying connected and active within the association. The next course will be held at Fairmont State University where participants will hear from Tabitha Lafferre about Scheduling and Planning. ??♀???
