CSI is currently in the field at University of Massachusetts Amherst in Newton, Massachusetts, performing comprehensive waterproofing, masonry, and stone patching to restore the structural integrity of a Mount Ida Campus building. Highlights include repairing deteriorated surfaces, reinforcing key structural components, and applying advanced protective treatments to prevent future damage and provide a safe environment for staff and students. By combining precision techniques with high-performance materials, our team is ensuring the building remains resilient against environmental wear and water infiltration for years to come.

To combat wear and tear, our Contracting Specialists DC, LLC team recently completed complex repairs at a four-story, 58,000-SF parking garage in the city of Salisbury, Maryland. Project requirements included bearing pad replacement after jacking and shoring up each level, concrete repairs, and coating of the top level with a vehicular coating. The vital garage serves a rehabilitation center, apartment building, and local businesses, so our team strategically rotated night shifts to keep the garage open during the day. In the end, we were proud to turn the rehabilitated, safe garage over to the public for their daily comings and goings.

February is American Heart Month, raising awareness about the importance of heart health. Whether working in an office or in the field, we should always be focused on doing our best to make healthy lifestyle choices, identify and employ methods to reduce stress, be on the lookout for any warning signs of cardiac distress in ourselves and others, and be well-versed in the skills that may help you respond appropriately during a medical emergency.

February 11th marked the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. From engineers to environmental scientists, we would like to acknowledge the many women within our own BBCH family who contribute so much to the STEM community. Their achievements in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics stand as an inspiration, demonstrating the benefits of equal opportunity in these disciplines and leading the way for the female scientists of tomorrow!

Selected by the founders of Black History Month, the Association for the Study of African American Life and History (ASALH), this year’s theme for Black History Month is “African Americans and Labor,” focusing on the diverse and significant roles Black Americans have played in our workforce and the impact of work on their experience and culture throughout history. This month, we invite you to join us in honoring the countless contributions and accomplishments of African Americans, whose hard work and tenacity have so profoundly shaped our nation. ?

A work in progress! Contracting Specialists DC, LLC is currently executing a parapet fa?ade repair project at Norris Hall on Virginia Tech’s Blacksburg, VA, campus. The revitalization requires the removal of stone at the entire parapet on the north wing and the replacement of the shelf angle, flashings, and waterproofing. Throughout the north wing, our expert team will install post-installed fa?ade anchorages and replace the stone finishes to round out the project. We look forward to our hard work resulting in a restored, stable, leak-free, and aesthetically improved stone fa?ade for the university!

Time can take its toll on the best of us, even on the iconic Prudential Building in Boston, MA. To help rejuvenate the 52-floor skyscraper, Contracting Specialists Incorporated has been executing a comprehensive concrete repair and waterproofing project involving critical structural elements such as columns, beams, and slabs through meticulous patching, crack injection, and the application of advanced protective coatings. Our expert team takes great pride in doing all they can to safeguard the important commercial center against water infiltration and ensure its long-term resilience so it may stand the test of time.
