Two interesting things that stood out this round: 1) Warehouse robotics is more nuanced than expected, enough that we segmented warehouse logistics by product type. No surprise it's one of the most mature categories in robotics. 2) We added a wave of new humanoid robotics startups, with many more from Asia than we'd previously noticed. The funding landscape here is interesting, where the enormous potential market of physical human labor naturally attracts a large number of new companies. Xatoms?(Toronto, Canada) - Employs patented quantum chemistry and AI technology to purify water from the world's toughest contaminants using sunlight, addressing global water scarcity issues. 8. Knead Technologies?(Calgary, Canada) - Uses AI to connect food waste with food reuse, tackling global food insecurity by ensuring that surplus food reaches those in need. Do we think AI will continue to drive growth in the data center and data center technology sector? Absolutely! The demand for AI-ready data centers is projected to continue skyrocketing as AI applications become more integral to business operations. According to McKinsey, global demand for data center capacity could rise at an annual rate of 19-22% from 2023 to 2030. This surge is driven by the need to support applications like these and their advanced AI workloads. This will continue transforming how data centers are designed and operated.
