We are excited that the discussion and movement towards solutions that protect patients continues. Well done!
Yesterday, Gerren McHam from the API Innovation Center participated in a panel discussion on implementing policy to prevent drug shortages, building on our collaborative work with the Duke-Margolis ReVAMP Drug Supply Chain Consortium. This event brought together consortium members and industry leaders in discussions on increasing supply chain reliability and reducing the frequency and severity of drug shortages. The panel, “Enabling Reliability through Advanced Manufacturing Technologies,” included?Mark Godfrey from Eli Lilly and Company, Andrew J. Carpenter, Ph.D., from Phlow, and Joel Welch from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and was moderated by Gerrit Hamre from the Duke-Margolis Institute for Health Policy. They discussed existing federal programs that can drive increased adoption of advanced manufacturing technologies (AMTs) and opportunities for leveraging AMTs for improvements in reliability, quality assurance, and national health security. During the panel, we shared our success story of developing Lomustine API with AMTs and how we will continue to invest in advanced technologies to drive reliability in the supply chain. We're committed to advancing these initiatives to ensure a more reliable and secure pharmaceutical supply chain for all.
