EQT Corporation, a leading energy producer in the U.S., has a goal of delivering the lowest emission natural gas supply in the world. The company is well on its way, according to CEO Toby Z. Rice. Rice recently led a talk at the Gastech Exhibition & Conference in Houston titled, “Driving Purposeful Industry Progress on Methane Reduction.” Rice shared how EQT has reduced its methane intensity by 70% through operational efficiencies and by using advanced technology, such as Context Labs’ Decarbonization as a Service (DaaS?) platform. DaaS allows EQT to accurately quantify, and reduce carbon intensity across its end-to-end value chain, generating full lifecycle carbon intensity scores that help EQT demonstrate stronger proof of performance.?? David Tucker, head of origination for energy transition and carbon markets at Context Labs BV, recently participated in a Deloitte panel at Climate Week NYC 2024 focused on how data can drive real-time emissions monitoring, greater operational efficiency, and commercial value for energy companies. David shared his insights along with Amy Quintana Avalos, SVP and chief sustainability officer at World Kinect, and Julie Mulkerin Ortiz, general manager, decarbonization strategy at Chevron. The panelists discussed how connecting real-time data across operations is helping the oil and gas, maritime, and aviation industries advance decarbonization, as well as the importance of tracking emissions across the full value chain.
