While you can’t overstate the importance of learning, many marketers simply need help. If you are wondering where to get started or if you have a specific task in mind, we can help. People ask us all the time how CMI came to be. It’s simple, really. Despite the abundance of good blogs, books and other resources on content marketing, we’ve found that people have a lot of questions about content marketing. Here are just a few of the questions we hear all the time: How do I develop a strategy? How do I create content that my audience will find valuable? How can I measure what’s working (and what’s not) to make changes? Here’s the thing: While many people know how to do some of this well, very few people have the knowledge—or time—to be a master of everything. We launched the Content Marketing Institute in May 2010 as a meeting ground for the brightest minds to give you real-world how-to advice about content marketing in any venue: online, mobile, in-person and in print. What’s the outlook (and current reality) for content and marketing careers these days???? ? I’ve seen many anecdotal posts lately about how hard it is to get a job these days. And that even if you have one, you might not enjoy it very much. ? But what do 700 marketers say?? ? Well, CMI’s new research reveals a mixed picture:? ? ??Marketers laid off in the past two years say it took just three months on average to find a new job.? ? ??But many?experience?frustration with postings for “phantom jobs”?— obligatory listings or even fake posts floated for data collection.? ? ??The generative AI boogeyman isn’t stealing jobs yet. Only 3% say their organization has replaced marketers with AI tools.? ? ??Yet, in response to a question about how AI impacts marketing teams, many say their organizations don’t plan to backfill open positions — so generative AI’s efficiency promise may be silently shrinking marketing teams.? ? ??76% of marketers are somewhat or very satisfied in their roles.?? ? ??Even so, 35% are highly interested in or actively pursuing a new role. And when they do, they think they’ll face a tougher job market than five years ago.?? Demand-generation marketers have it rough these days: 95% of those in a recent CMI survey said they're under pressure to produce results despite limited budgets and resources. A misunderstanding of generative AI's strengths fuels this pressure, according to Robert Rose. "[AI] doesn’t take fewer people, and it doesn’t take any less effort, creativity, or content...
